Individual Lessons -

We strongly recommend group classes for young children (4-6 years old) who are complete beginners.  There are numerous benefits for starting violin in a group setting and you may find out more about our group classes here...

Your individual lessons will range anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour each week.  This will largely depend on your ability to concentrate and also the level of difficulty of technique / pieces you are working on. 

If you are under 9 years old, your lessons are usually 30 minutes long.

Between 8-11 years old, lessons are usually 45 minutes long.

From 10 years and above, it is likely you will be taking an hour lesson if your repertoire is at least a Grade 5 level.

There is also performance classes every once in a while where you will perform in front of other students.  And once a year you will perform at the annual solo concert - Virtuosi in Concert.

Three aspects are covered in your individual lessons whether or not you are taking lessons geared towards an ABRSM exam, audition, performance or competition.

These are all necessary ingredients for one to have adequate and healthy progression on the violin.  Each component will vary in proportion and customized by our expert teachers according to the needs of the student at that point in their learning journey.
